The JHIA Diary 2018 is special in its equal measure. The edition also sends a special appeal to well-wishers to join the institute in its long term plans. The Jesuit Superiors of Africa and Madagascar (JESAM) approved a 10-year strategic plan for the JHIA to have it move to its optimum level. Part of the short term and long term plans include the desire of the institute to occupy permanent premises even as it keeps its vision and missions in check. To fully implement this plan and others, JHIA will need US$4,000,000 for constructions, a further US$ 1,500,000 to populate the building with material and another US$ 1,000,000 for an endowment thus bringing the total amount to US$ 6,500,000.

JHIA is therefore initiating a $1 campaign that would enable it raise US$1,000,000 for an endowment which will be part of its 10-year plan. This amount will provide the institute with a steady income to cover up to 45% of its recurrent expenses and thus guarantee its long term sustainability. We are requesting friends, partners and well-wishers to donate a minimum of one dollar towards this critical goal.
